In what appears to be a partnering between streaming services, Hulu and Showtime have teamed up to bring you a consolidated service for discount pricing, according to Reuters.

The service is expected to differentiate itself from the joint venture that Amazon Prime currently has with HBO. In that case, HBO provides Amazon Prime members with exclusive content from its vast library of originals, but not current series. Those are reserved for the HBO Go membership only.

This service, however, will provide Hulu customers a discounted rate to add Showtime's streaming service. The difference being that Amazon Prime does not charge extra for the exclusive HBO content.

In this deal, you will still pay your normal $7.99 monthly fee to Hulu. But, in order to get Showtime streaming services, you will need to pay an additional $8.99.

According to Re/code, the cost of getting the Showtime service alone is $11, which means you would be able to stream it from an Apple TV, a Roku Streaming Player or through the Sony PlayStation Vue online TV service.

For Hulu subscribers that sign up for the Showtime promotion, they will get to stream their shows through the Hulu website, which will be available July 12. That is just ahead of the premiere of season 3 of "Ray Donovan." But the cost for doing this combined service would bring your total up to $17 a month.

"What we're basically figuring is that by adding these two services together, we think that consumers are entitled to a discount. We really wanted to be aggressive coming out of the gate," Tim Connolly, Head of Distribution for Hulu, told Re/code. "We're interested in selling Showtime, but we're more interested in selling Showtime and Hulu together."

The New York Times reported that another option for getting Showtime is through your cable or satellite package, which is $10 a month and includes the linear and non-liner services.
