Powerball Numbers & Results June 24, 2015: Watch Live Stream Of Drawing For $40 Million Jackpot
Wednesday’s chance to win big at Powerball is here.
The current jackpot stands at $40 million with a cash value of $24.8 million.
Last Saturday’s winning numbers were: 9, 10, 16, 20 and 57, and the Powerball was 15.
There was one Powerball jackpot winner Saturday. There were 420,183 regular winners and $3,778,340 in non jackpot money was won. And there are, in total, nine ways to win at Powerball.
Players have a 1 in 175,223,510.00 chance of winning the grand prize and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 of winning $1,000,000.
So the chances of winning are slim but people do actually win.
NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reports a man named Joseph Drake from Texas bought a Powerball ticket in the city of Euless last week and ended up matching five of the winning numbers and getting $1 million.
In not so lucky Powerball news, a winner from Staten Island will likely have to fork over some of his new found fortune to a cyclist that he hit with the door of his truck.
Anthony Perosi Jr, a 56-year old man who won the $136 million jackpot in May, opened his door right into a guy named Kieran Del Pasqua, a 40-year-old Internet executive who was riding in the bike lane.
So Del Pasqua, who sustained injuries that required that screws be implanted in his elbow,
is now suing Perosi.
And, as the New York Post reports, Del Pasqua’s attorney, David MacCartney, is moralizing about the Powerball winner’s apparent thoughtlessness, saying, “Lottery winners may feel and act carefree, but like the rest of us, they still owe a duty of reasonable care for the safety of their fellow citizens.”
“Good luck is no substitute for careful driving and responsible behavior,” said the lawyer.
