Belinda News: Pop Star Received key to Charlotte, North Carolina
At the age of 25, Belinda became the youngest Spanish artist to receive the key to the city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
On Instagram, the popstar shared the news that she got the key to the American city.
"Thank you so much," she said. "It's gestures like this that I appreciate teh most. I work very hard, and for you to recognize it by honoring me with the key to your city means the world to me. This will never be forgotten. Thank you."
La Opinion notes that Belinda was also named queen at the Carolina Festival.
Through an interpreter, she stated that she didn't expected to be named queen of the Festival. The singer wowed people who attended the festival by performing "Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella."
During the performance, Peregrin said she likes performing with mariachi.
"I like Mexican music more each time," she said.
Things haven't been all good for Peregrin.
La Opinion is reported that the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit revealed that for a couple of years ago, the agency has investigated Belinda's accounts in a very stealthy way, having found inconsistencies such as buying and selling clothes, jewelry and luxury items that were not properly reported to the Treasury.
Therefore, Belinda could be in serious trouble. Tax evasion could be a possibility. The report also states that she might have lied about the amount of money she truly makes to the Ministry. Tax evasion is using illegal means to avoid paying taxes. If she is caught and convicted, she can serve somewhere between three months and nine years in prison.
