iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Rumors: Force Touch and High-Quality Camera Expected
An updated iPhone is expected this fall, likely in September.
The next iPhone from Apple will probably be called the iPhone 6S and it is expected to receive various improvements including a better camera and more RAM, according to TechRadar.
The iPhone 6S will be an update to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple will use the progress it has made on the past versions of the iPhone to make improvements on the iPhone 6S.
A recent report suggests that the iPhone 6S could add 0.2 mm of thickness and 0.15 mm of height to its profile. Most users will not notice this, but this means that the camera will no longer protrude from the back of the phone.
New colors could be coming as well. The space grey color of the phone will have a darker appearance and the rose gold and pink colors are also expected.
The size of the iPhone 6S is not expected to change. There will be a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch Plus model.
Apple has tried to add the ultra-strong and scratch-resistant sapphire glass for its display, but due to production limits has been unable to. Apple might be able to produce the sapphire glass for all of the new iPhones this time.
Facetime chats could be greatly improved if Apple updates its front-facing camera to 1080p-quality video and adds a flash.
The rear-facing camera will likely see its first major upgrade in years, upgrading from 8 megapixels (MP) to 12 MP. The quality of the pictures are also expected to be DSLR quality.
The latest version of the operating system, iOS 9, is expected to come out at the same time as the iPhone 6S. With iOS 9, Siri is expected to get smarter, a new keyboard will debut, updates will come to Apple Maps and battery life will improve.
The amount of RAM inside the new iPhone is expected to double from 1 GB to 2GB and a brand new processor is also predicted.
Apple could follow the new technology called Force Touch that is using on its new Apple Watch. This technology allows the touchscreen to distinguish how much pressure a user puts on the display in order to perform different functions.
According to Telegraph, the iPhone 6S is expected to be released on Sept. 25.
