Universal Studios in Hollywood has debuted its new "Fast and Furious" ride for fans all over the country.

The ride is officially called "Fast and Furious Supercharged," and fans will get the first opportunity to experience it on Thursday along with the cast and crew of "Furious 7," according to Reuters.

This revolutionary new ride immerses the fan into the steam-charged excitement of the film as a character, as opposed to being a spectator. The ride features the use of cutting edge technology with 3D-HD imagery accompanied by the ride itself, which boasts speeds of up to 120 MPH.

The 3D-HD imagery is actually a 360-degree screen that makes the rider feel a part of the action. The attraction itself also features the original stars from the film who immerse the rider in the film's fictional universe and take them on a super-charged high-speed chase that includes the perceived notion of danger, stunts that are inherent to the film franchise.

The red carpet ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday was attended by stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and franchise newcomer Jason Statham. The event also featured Diesel cutting the ribbon for the attraction, followed by a stunt car coming out and violently crashing through a billboard to mark the attraction's official opening.

The actors got an exclusive opportunity to take on the attraction themselves with a firsthand experience.

"When you put people in a theater or (they watch) a blu-ray DVD, they are watching in the comfort of their home," Gibson told Reuters. "But to physically be inside a tram car and experience your favorite franchise as a theme park ride, it definitely raises the bar."

Variety also reports that the attraction's debut ceremonies also featured "souped-up" cars that sped onto the lot with engines roaring and revving to the crowd.

"We were looking to have a grand finale to the studio tour, and we thought, 'What better film series than "Fast & Furious?"'" Chick Russell, executive producer of the ride, told Variety. "It almost feels like a thrill ride in the theater."
