Selena Gomez has found her own escape from her troubles working on her film Rudderless that's debuting at the Sundance Film Festival. The "Come and Get It" singer talks about the film, paparazzi and her life.

The Sundance Film Festival has been an escape from "the everyday madness that I've got to go through," Selena told reporters. "I could just wear my own clothes and not have to worry about anything and just be with these cool people" Gomez said alongside director William H. Macy and film star Billy Crudup. Macy, an actor turned director, picked Gomez for a small part in Rudderless a music filled film, after seeing her in Spring Breakers.

"I was stocked, I was about to go on tour and I knew it was going to be a year long. I kind of get this panic attack when I know I'm not going to be on a set for a year. Just because I do love both a lot," Selena said. The star has, however, admitted in the past that she has a bit of preference towards acting. Gomez says that "it felt good" working with Anton Yelchin, Felicity Huffman and Laurence Fishburne, who also star in the film. The film is about a father's discovery of his son's musical talent and his own after his death.

Gomez reveals that she feels she has not yet found her musical talent. "I started music when I was 14. And I had like four Number one club songs before I was even allowed in a club. So I think that journey still kind of is happening for me. I've never really had the opportunity to share a lot of that side of myself through lyrical content. So that's stuff that I get to explore later". Selena...your awesome, stop downplaying yourself.

Gomez says she appreciates being in a paparazzi-free zone and we bet she is enjoying not having to talk about Justin Bieber while she's there. Seems like the Biebs is back to stressing our girl out so do what makes you happy Selena. Rudderless is set to premiere Friday as the Festival's closing night film.
