Psy New Dance Called 'Abracadabra'? YouTube Music Video Unveiled; KPop Fans React to 'Gentleman' and New Viral Song
South Korean music sensation Psy has finally released the much-awaited follow up to his international viral hit 'Gangnam Style,' an electro-pop number called 'Gentleman.' The song, which includes a new dance for Psy's international fans, was leaked online a day before its official April 12 release to some mixed reactions. On April 13, Psy held a live streamed concert called "Happening" from the Seoul World Cup Stadium, where he debuted the new song live as well as his new music video.
While many compared its beat to the charismatic singer's previous hit, they hoped that the new dance would help the overall experience. However, it wasn't the case for many fans, who recognized the new dance as the 'abracadabra' dance made popular by KPop girl group Brown Eyed Girls.
YouTube user Kristell A said, "He's making abracadabra dance famous. I like the tune but the video is not that funny." Several fans agreed, saying they didn't like the video as much as they liked 'Gangnam Style.' One user under the name miu1471 wrote, "The dance steps are not as impressive as Gangnam Style."
Others were slightly more critical of their opinions, despite ultimately liking the video and Psy's new moves. "It isn't good, but somehow it grows on you, like a bad rash. Hate to say it but I love it," said YouTube user TRbMrYellow.
"I don't think he will make another international hit! The song is not catchy, the dance is nothing new we all know the abracadabra dance, the video is funny though," added Laila aljaaidi.
Of course, Psy's hardcore fans were there to back him up. "PSY STRIKES AGAIN," wrote Lars Jensen. Fellow fan souske222 added, "Very catchy, I like it! Good job psy!"
