Rapper YG, whose real name is Keenon Jackson, was shot on June 12 after a recording session in Studio City, Los Angeles. He was at the studio to work on tracks for his next album.

YG, who was reportedly shot three times, spoke about the incident for the first time in an exclusive interview with Billboard on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old rapper set the record straight; he was not shot three times.

"I got shot one time. It was three bullet holes because it went in, went out and went back in again," the Compton, California, native explained.

He did get shot in the hip. Luckily, the bullet did not travel deep enough to sever a main artery in the groin, he said. The bullet also did not hit any bones.

Family, friends and those from his record label visited YG in the hospital, according to the "My Hitta" rapper. Rapper Lil' Boosie Facetimed with him.

"I was in the hospital, in a wheelchair, and I lost all my contacts but I see the 504, so I knew it wasn't anybody in L.A., so I ask who it is and he says, 'It's Boosie. What's up man, you straight?' He was real concerned," he said.

The "Ride Out" rapper left the hospital that night. The next day, he went straight to the recording studio.

"Nobody wanted me to go. My mama tells me, 'What are you talking about going to the studio?' But you know, I got sh*t to do -- this sh*t don't stop for nobody. I came straight to the studio on my little crutches," he said.

YG is now able to walk without crutches, according to Billboard, and close to a full recovery.

When Billboard asked the rapper who shot him, he said, "I don't know, and it don't matter."

One thing the rapper does know -- the shooting was not gang-related. "It just happened out of the blue. We don't know who did it, we don't know why. We don't know nothing," he said.

The Billboard reporter remarked that YG is a "tough guy."

"Yeah," the rapper agreed. "I'm hard to kill."

YG also revealed to Billboard that his sophomore album will be named "Still Krazy," which should be released later this year. It is the follow-up to "My Krazy Life," which was hailed as one of 2014's best rap albums.
