Channing Tatum says he hated being in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra," despite its major success, according to E! News.

"Look, I'll be honest. I f**king hate that movie. I hate that movie! I was pushed into doing that movie, from 'Coach Carter,'" Tatum said in an interview on Howard Stern's Sirius XM.

The 2009 action movie made $302.4 million worldwide.

Tatum was at a good point in his career where he was getting a lot of movie deals. He recalls getting signed up for a "three-picture deal" and loving the fact that he could make up to $100,000 for a movie.

"Even if I just get one other of those movies, I'm good," the actor said. "So time goes by and you get other jobs and you're building your quote and things happen and you have a dream job that you want to go do, and the studio calls up and they're like, 'Hey, we got a movie for you.'"

Tatum remembers the studio telling him that they want him to be in "G.I. Joe," but he was against the whole thing. Although he did not want to be in the movie, he at least wanted to play Snake Eyes.

Unfortunately for Tatum, he was turned down.

"'No. You're not playing Snake Eyes,'" he said he was told.

This left Tatum with no other choice, and he said that he was told that he had to do the movie or run the risk of being sued.

Other stars in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra" include Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Lee Byung-hun, Christopher Eccleston, Brendan Fraser, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Dennis Quaid, Said Taghmaoui, Arnold Vosloo and Marlon Wayans.

Tatum has become more established, and he gets to be in movies he is more suited to, such as "Magic Mike XXL," which will soon be released.

The gang talked to Entertainment Weekly about their diet during filming. They had to avoid their favorite foods to stay in great shape.

The rest of the "Magic Mike" crew includes Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Stephen "tWitch" Boss.
