Amazon Prime subscribers will be treated to another season of its hit series "Transparent," according to Entertainment Weekly.

This Golden-Globe winning series is expected to debut its third season sometime this year on Amazon, but no specific date has been set. It will feature the returning character of Maura Pfefferman, who is portrayed by Jeffrey Tambour of "Arrested Development." Maura was actually Morton L. Pfefferman in the Season 1 premiere.

The original incarnation of the story is about Pfefferman, who is the father of three grown children, who decides to come out as a transgender. The children react a little apprehensively to the idea, but they give their support to Maura.

The show's creator, Jill Soloway, has signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios to produce new projects while simultaneously running her flagship show.

"Jill is truly a creative force and I'm thrilled that we will be collaborating with her additional projects in the future and on a third season of 'Transparent,'" Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios, told EW. "The second season is currently starting production, and I know our customers will be delighted to continue the journey with Maura and the Pfefferman family."

Following the media sensation surrounding the transition of Bruce Jenner into Caitlyn Jenner, Soloway said that her situation will definitely be referred to in the scripts, but there is no confirmation yet as to whether or not she will appear in the third season, according to Variety.

"I don't know if she'd want to act, but we definitely want to incorporate the fact that she came out into this season," Soloway said to Variety. "Just to have that base conversation somewhere in a scene, for sure."

This was after she told them that Jenner was invited to the set and to in some way be a part of the production.

Jenner and Kim Kardashian have publicly stated that they watched the show as a family to help them get through Caitlyn's initial transition period.
