Facebook's iOS app will get some photo-editing features similar to Snapchat. Now, users will be able to edit their photos with filters, add text and attach stickers all from the app when uploading a picture, according to Yahoo Tech.

Facebook tried to acquire Snapchat back in 2013 for $3 billion. When that acquisition failed, they released an app of their own, which was very similar called Slingshot.

Users will now be able to add text, edit their pictures using filters and attach stickers to every photo they choose to upload from the iOS app to their Facebook profile.

Facebook has offered stickers since 2014 with its own Stickered app. Then this year, Facebook added stickers for upload through the app.

The new update to the iOS app gives users more options with their photos before uploading them. Users will be able to add colorful text, attach stickers from the sticker store and edit their photos using filters.

Before uploading the photo, the unedited picture will appear on the left and the newly altered picture will appear on the right side-by-side.

Users will be able to choose from the following filters: Auto color correction, "vintage" sepia, bright "spring," golden "summer," orange "fall," muted "winter," and black-and-white "snow."

The filters will be available with a simple swipe for quick and easy photo editing.

At the bottom of the photo, a magic wand icon can be pressed to access text and sticker overlays that can be added to the photo, according to 9to5 Mac. With these stickers, users could add a moustache to their face or add a funny hat to their head.

Facebook is testing out the new photo-editing features to select users before a full release. It is unclear when every iOS user will have access to the filters, stickers and text overlays.
