"Star Wars Battlefront" is one of the highly anticipated games during the Electronic Arts E3 press conference in June. Many gamers were eager to know more details about the game and a lot were taken by surprise when it was revealed that the DICE title will not feature a single-player mode.

Most of the titles out in the market have a single and multi-player feature so it's a mystery why "Star Wars Battlefront" can't have both.

However, the studio's general manager shared that this mode was never in the plan to begin with.

"To be honest, single-player was never in the plan," said Patrick Bach in an interview with Game Spot. "It was never the concept."

The studio chief went on to state that DICE planned for "Star Wars Battlefront" to help gamers "re-live the battles" they saw from the movies, which are mostly participated by more than one character.

Aside from that, Bach also revealed that the decision not to include a single-player campaign from the onset was influenced by the timeline of the upcoming "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" film.

Since the seventh "Star Wars" film is coming out in 2015, DICE needed to be quick with its upcoming title to coincide with the movie's release. Bach also stressed the importance of being fast in a highly competitive video game industry where a lot of titles get released every year.

On the other hand, the general manager also stated that since DICE has not been as successful in creating single-player campaigns as other studios, it was logical to strengthen the multi-player feature.

However, Bach revealed that the game will feature a mode similar to a single-player campaign. DICE will make offline missions available to players who prefer to enjoy the game alone.

Meanwhile, although the game will initially have 12 maps for players to explore, it will not include a Death Star-based map in the upcoming title. Death Star is a fictional spacecraft that was featured in the original movies.

"We will not offer a Death Star-based map," revealed the studio's community manager in a Reddit thread. "But stay tuned for details around the maps we will offer.

The upcoming title from DICE will also feature separate maps for its offline missions mode as well as additional maps via DLC that will be available at a later date, reported Game Rant.

DICE has already unveiled three maps that will launch with the game namely Hoth, the battle in Endor and a third environment set on the Sullust planet.

"Star Wars Battlefront" will it shelves on November 17.
