'Star Wars Episode 7' Rumors, Spoilers & Cast - Daisy Ridley Reveals Her Character's Origins
With little known about "Star Wars Episode VII," it seems that Daisy Ridley has revealed some information about her character, Rey.
During an interview in Japan, Ridley and producer Kathleen Kennedy shared some information about the film. However, what most interested people was that actress reportedly said, "I'm not sure how much I can say. I guess because I've said that I'm solitary, and that's how I begin, that is probably a big clue as to what it is."
Since she uses the word "solitary," many have already speculated that this means that she is the daughter of Han Solo. Additionally, the comment had Kennedy chuckling, which may be a sign that what Ridley said is important information.
There is very little known but it has already been confirmed that Ridley's character Rey begins alone on the planet of Jakku and that she carries a DL-44 blaster pistol which is similar to Han Solo's. However, it will be interesting to find out why Rey is on Jakku, especially if she is indeed Han Solo and Princess Leia's child.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" does not open until December but the cast and crew will be heading over to Comic-Con in a few months and there will definitely be a new trailer and new details for the film. A poster will most likely also be revealed especially since poster artwork has been rare.
The new film also stars Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o, Warwick Davis, Peter Mayhew, Max von Sydow and Anthony Daniels. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams and set to open on Dec. 18.
The film will be distributed by Disney.
