Tiger Woods & Lindsey Vonn Breakup Update: Golf Superstar Dating Amanda Dufner?
Tiger Woods is all over the news again as reports of his "steamy affair" with a fellow pro-golfer's ex-wife surfaced on Wednesday morning.
The National Enquirer reported that the 39-year-old golfer is allegedly cheating with Amanda Boyd, golf champ Jason Dufman's ex-wife. The affair purportedly caused the split between 39-year-old Woods and 30-year-old Olympic alpine ski athlete Lindsey Vonn, his girlfriend of two years.
"Even though Tiger dated Lindsey for years, he had a 'thing' for Amanda," a source told The Enquirer.
"At first, it was just innocent flirting, but earlier this year it became serious. Amanda is gorgeous, and she's known as a big flirt with the other players on the PGA tour," said a different source as quoted on The Enquirer.
"I guess her flirty ways and good looks caught Tiger's eye," the source added.
The golfer's reported fling with the dark-haired beauty have been the stuff of rumors for months following the PGA tour, added The Enquirer.
The 27-year-old Boyd was married to 2013 PGA champ Dufman until April of this year when the couple divorced. Divorce papers filed on March 16, 2015, cited by the Golf Channel, state that Boyd and Dufner had an "irretrievable breakdown of the marriage." Boyd got a $2.5 million settlement.
A report by the Daily Mail stated that Woods and Boyd kept the relationship secret, although reports claimed that Woods may have flown Amanda from Alabama to Seattle where the golfer was preparing for the U.S. Open. The 14-time champion didn't make it to the tournament, displaying the worst 36-hole effort of his entire career. He was reportedly distracted when a banner that read "cheater" was displayed on the course at the University Place in Washington.
Mark Steinberg, Woods' agent, denied the reports saying Enquirer's expose was "categorically false." In an email to GolfChannel.com, Steinberg wrote, "Absolutely zero truth to that ridiculous rumor."
This is not the first time Woods made the news for his meandering ways. In 2009, he admitted to cheating on his ex-wife, Swedish model Elin Nordegren, with a number of women. His infidel ways reportedly cost him around $100 million, according to TMZ, citing a source with knowledge of the divorce settlement. The ex-couple shares the custody of their two kids, Sam and Charlie.
