Nadal, the world number one came through after 2 hours and 24 minutes of play time with scores of 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 6-3 and goes on to face Federer's compatriot, Stanislas Wawrinka, for the title on Sunday, writes BBC Sports.

The Spaniard was in top form during match 33 between Federer and Nadal and no one could tell from his performance he was suffering from a blister on his racquet hand. The victor worried fans as he needed to seek medical treatment to his left hand blister early on in the game. He proved himself a champion by powering though and ending the game victorious.

The blister is good," BBC writes. "It looks better every day. We are doing the right things. The blister today is not a problem any more for normal life. It's not painful.

Nadal continues, "The problem is to play tennis. The only problem is the position of the blister, the place."

Federer had a good start in the first set but struggled as he faced 14 break points off Nadal while only able to force two of his own. Federer faded as Nadal broke four times throughout the game and three of them were in the third set.

Nadal now comfortably sits with a 12-0 record against his opponent Wawrinka heading into the finals.

On Sunday, Nadal faces another grueling match up as the 28 year old Wawrinka has been playing fantastically. He recently beat out Novac Djokovic and Tomas Berdych to reach his first Grand Slam Final, recalls the NY Times.

If Nadal, 27, hurdles Wawrinka, he would match Pete Sampras with 14 Grand Slam singles Titles, just behind Federer and become the first player in the Open era and the third ever to collect each major tournament trophy twice.
