The first and current UFC Women's Bantamweight champion is set to see action outside the cage as she teams up with Hollywood bigshot Mark Wahlberg in a cop movie directed by Peter Berg, titled, "Mile 22," The Hollywood Reporter learned exclusively.

In a report by MMAfighting.com, Rousey has expressed interest in breaking in the acting world by taking on minor roles in movies like "Fast & Furious 6" and "Entourage." Now she is taking on a more significant role, acting alongside a huge star in Wahlberg.

Not your ordinary cop movie

"Mile 22" is an action movie written by Graham Roland. It revolves around the life of a CIA agent (Wahlberg) who is stationed in Indonesia to transport a compromised asset. The task for the agent is to bring the informant from the center of the city to a getaway plane waiting for them 22 miles away. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film delves into the peculiar relationship between a CIA officer and a member of the Indonesian police forced by circumstances to work together through criminal overlords, heavily-armed civilians and deep-seated political corruption.

Wahlberg and Berg are currently negotiating with the newly established STX entertainment to team up for the upcoming movie, Berg revealed to THR. As noted by Variety, the year-old studio, led by Robert Simonds, has been seeking out mid-price films to produce. STX will reportedly release its first movie on August 7, "The Gift," starring Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall and Joel Edgerton.

Both Wahlberg and Berg are represented by WME. The actor is represented by Leverage Management and Sloane Offer as well, while Berg is under Hirsch Wallerstein.

Highly-skilled cast

The "Mile 22" cast is also joined by Iko Uwais, star of the acclaimed martial arts movies "The Raid: Redemption and Berandal." When plans push through, "Mile 22" will be the third collaboration between Wahlberg and Berg. They worked together on "Lone Survivor" and "Deepwater Horizon," a disaster drama that tackles the British Petroleum oil-rig explosion in 2010 that is set to be released soon, added THR.

Although taking strides in establishing her career as an actress, Rousey is a fighter first and foremost. She is currently preparing for her match against Bethe Correia for UFC 190 set on August 1. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rousey trash talked Correia by suggesting that she accepted to fight in her opponent's home country to "beat her in the most devastatingly embarrassing way possible."
