50 Cent, Rick Ross Sex Tape Trial Update: Psychiatrist Testifies 50 Caused Minimal Damage by Posting Tape Online
A psychiatrist testified that 50 Cent caused only minimal damage to Latonia Leviston after posting online a sex tape involving the mother of rap rival Rick Ross' child.
On Thursday, Dr. Ilene Zwirn, whom 50 Cent paid, the New York Daily News reports, as much as $70,000 in consulting fees, insisted to a Manhattan court that Leviston was more harmed by the boyfriend who callously sold the tape to the rap star. Zwirn added Leviston only became suicidal after she realized Maurice Murray had betrayed her and their trust had been broken.
The 36-year-old Leviston is now suing 50, born Curtis Jackson, for violating her civil rights and causing her emotional distress by posting the video on his website where it was ultimately viewed by millions.
Jackson allegedly posted the video as a means of getting under Ross's skin. The New York Daily News previously reported, in the version of the tape that went live, 50 superimposed his alter ego, "Pimpin' Curly," onto Murray's body and provided a running narrative of their encounter aimed at taunting Ross.
During her earlier testimony, Leviston claimed she repeatedly asked Murray to return the tape to her in the winter of 2009, as she said he promised to do, but he ultimately refused. Leviston added she only agreed to make the tape because the two lived in different states, and he claimed he wanted to be able hear and see her when they were apart.
In February 2009, Murray is reported to have either gave or sold the tape to Jackson.
