Austin Dillon survived a horrifying car crash at a NASCAR race Sunday night.

Bleacher Report reports that NASCAR driver Austin Dillon was involved in huge car crash that involved five different cars during Turn 1 of the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Dillon's car was airborne and crashed into the safety fence. Five fans were treated with non-life-threatening injuries.

Dillon walked away and waved to the crowd after his car got airborne and was torn apart by the fence. He was checked and released from the infield care center with a bruised tailbone and forearm. After the crash, Dillon spoke about the crash and discuss his plan for NASCAR about safety.

"It's not really acceptable, I don't think, We've got to figure out something. Our speeds are too high, I think. I think everybody could get good racing at lower speeds," he said.

NASCAR racer Ryan Newman was also vocal about the safety of its drivers and according to USA Today, he was furious.

"NASCAR got what they wanted," Newman said. "That's the end of it, Cars getting airborne, unsafe drivers, same old stuff. They just don't listen...They just don't pay attention to safety. Simple as that."

Other racers such as Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski expressed their heartfelt wishes to Dillon via Twitter.
