'Mortal Kombat X' Update: Predator Added to Expanding Roster on Tuesday [Watch]
Mortal Kombat X's roster keeps expanding. Monday, the game's publisher Warner Bros. Interactive announced the character Predator would be added as a bonus character, according to Polygon.
The last character that Mortal Kombat X added was Jason Voorhees from the move "Friday the 13th." Voorhees was released in May.
Players who already have the Mortal Kombat X season pass, called the Kombat Pack, will be able to start playing with Predator Tuesday. The Kombat Pack is a $29.99 bundle that gives players access to bonus characters and player skins.
Predator's bundle comes with the Predator character and three new skins: Commando Johnny, Infrared Scorpion and Carl Weathers. Weathers played Dillon in "Predator" and will represent a skin for Jax.
For players who do not have the Kombat Pack, Predator can be purchased separately, but not until July 14. The character by itself will cost $4.99, the Prey Pack skin pack will sell for $3.99 and the Predator Bundle that includes the character and the skins will sell for $7.99.
In a trailer previewing the new Predator character, his moves are shown off. He is able to destroy most of the opponents he faces. In the final battle of the trailer, he takes on Voorhees. Immediately he hangs Voorhees upside down high above the ground and follows that by throwing some projectiles at his helpless body. He then shoots a giant hole through Voorhees' torso and also knocks off his arm with a laser. In the final shot, Predator shoots a blue laser right at Voorhees' head and the screen goes black.
Predator has all the weapons he had from the movies including the wrist blades, smart-disc, scimitar and the cloaking device, according to Eurogamer.
Just like the other fighters in Mortal Kombat X, Predator will have three variations. The three variations of Predator are The Warrior, The Hish-Qu-Ten and the Hunter variation.
One of Predator's fatalities has him using the smart-disc to shave off the top of his opponent's head.
