'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: Stephen Amell Opens About Oliver and Felicity's New Romance
Although Season 3 of "Arrow" ended on a happy note as Oliver and Felicity rode off into the sunset to start a new life together, the new couple's future is very much still up in the air.
After an intense battle with Ra's al Ghul in the Season 3 finale, Oliver took down the leader of the League of Assassins and saved Starling City from destruction. Malcolm Merlin then stepped up as Ra's successor and become the new head of the League while Thea adopted a new superhero identity as Speedy. In addition, Oliver decided to hang up his hood to drive off in a convertible with Felicity, telling her that he had finally found his happiness.
During a recent interview with The TV Junkies, series star Stephen Amell opened up about Oliver's romance with Felicity and his thoughts on whether or not the couple's relationship will last next season.
According to Amell, the couple will still be away when the show returns in October.
"They are away and I believe they are still away when we get going again," he said.
As a result, it will be up to Diggle, Laurel and Team Arrow to defend Starling City until Oliver and Felicity return.
When asked if the romance will last, Amell replied saying, "Well you never know, but I think if anyone has a decent chance it's Oliver and Felicity. Time will tell."
Amell also elaborated on a teaser that he shared in one of his Facebook chats, revealing that the show will pick up several months after the Season 3 finale.
"When I said there was a time jump people were like, 'Oh my God really?' I didn't think that was very spoilery because the show has always followed chronologically when we air. Whenever we've taken a break and go off the air from May til October, when we leave it's May and when we come back it's October," he explains.
After reading the first few scripts of Season 4, Amell also revealed that "it still feels like our show but there are different elements that I think people are going to enjoy."
He added that "we get to see some characters interact that weren't always the closest of friends or interacting on a regular basis which is neat when you're doing new stuff in the fourth season of a show."
Entertainment Weekly also dropped spoilers, revealing that Sara is not going to be happy with Thea for killing her once she resurrects from the dead.
"I would imagine it would be a hard image to shake, Thea's face as she shoots three arrows into Sara's chest," said actress Caity Lotz who plays Sara. "Though when/if Sara learns that it was actually Malcolm Merlyn's doing, I think she'd definitely have some feelings of revenge brewing in her stone cold assassin blood."
