‘Hawaii Five-O’ Season 6 News: Filming Starts In Honolulu [Watch]
The first episode of the highly anticipated Season 6 of the smash hit CBS show "Hawaii Five-O" has started to take shape with the cast and crew gathering outside of the Koko Head Elementary School, according to the Star Advertiser in Honolulu.
The show reached a climatic summit last season when the finale episode resolved the threat, but left the door wide open for another one. This includes not yet officially seeing Kono and Adam get married. But not to worry because they make it across the altar.
Series star Australian actor Alex O'Loughlin was nothing but smiles when the island natives came out to bless the set before production and filming began.
"I've never been this far in a show," O'Loughlin told the Star. "This is six years, our sixth season. Everyone is very excited. By now we certainly know what to expect as far as workload goes. I think there is a certain ease that goes along with getting this far in a show as well."
O'Loughlin was sporting a thick beard that had been growing between seasons and it is unclear at this moment if the scruffy look will make an appearance in the show's sixth season. But we do know for sure that the first episode is expected to pick right up with Kono's wedding day at their reception.
According to Entertainment Weekly, O'Loughlin's Steve character will be getting his love interest, Catherine, to stay around for a bit in the season. Executive Producer Peter Lenkov spoke with them about the storyline.
"We never just deliver plot," Lenkov told EW. "There's plenty of character stuff in the first episode in season 6, including a huge turn in the McGarrett/Catherine relationship."
We also know that the season is going to start out with a throwback to the 1800s when there is a rush to find a pirate's bounty.
