Slash from Guns n' Roses is the next rock/heavy metal hero that has undergone the film career transition, alongside fellow shock-rocker Rob Zombie, according to Deadline.

Slash's new film, "The Hell Within," is about a woman who lives in New York whos is sent on a quest because of strange dreams and calls. It leads her to the Brazilian jungle to find a little girl. But the quest takes a horrific turn and she soon finds herself tangled in more than she bargained for.

According to the article, the famous guitar-ripping rocker has taken to crowdsourcing to get the project fully funded and even released a preview for the movie, which appears to be of high-quality.

This is not the first time Slash has produced a movie under his logo, SlashFiction. Back in 2013, he produced the horror movie "Nothing Left to Fear," which starred Anne Heche ("John Q") and James Tupper and was released by Anchor Bay.

The new film with its crowdfunding campaign that heavily relies on the rocker's music fans, will also include Benito Mueller and Wolfgang Mueller from Barry Films in partnership on the project. It will be directed by Dennison Ramalho ("ABC's of Death 2") and scribed by Jeff Buhler. Buhler may be best known by horror fans as the screenwriter for Clive Barker's "Midnight Meat Train," which was originally a short story of the same name by Barker.

The campaign for funding includes special perks for the fans who donate to the film project. These perks include set visits, film cameo parts and backstage passes to Slash's own concerts.

This campaign has been launched via FanBacked, a crowdsourcing website that is dedicated to connecting fans with artists and creators that need funding for their artistic projects.
