Although fans of the "The Good Wife" were forced to say goodbye to Archie Panjabi's beloved character Kalinda last season, new spoilers reveal that there will be a lot to look forward to in Season 7, including the additions of actress Margo Martindale and actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Along with Kalinda's departure from the show, it was also revealed that Matthew Goode's character, Finn, will no longer be a series regular.

However, CBS announced that Emmy Award-winning actress Margo Martindale has been cast in a recurring role on the show as Willa Eastman, a top campaign operative who will face off with Alan Cumming's Eli. Willa is described as a manipulative woman who hides her "intelligence and cunning under a fake, folksy charm," reports TVLine. After convincing people that she is a sweet and trustworthy, she moves in to snatch victory from them. She is also responsible for previous successes by underdog presidential candidates in Iowa.

At the end of Season 6, Eli's main man, Illinois Gov. Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) announced that he is considering making a run for the White House. This could mean that Willa may either become part of his dark-horse campaign or spearhead a campaign for one of his opponents.

In a statement, executive producers Robert and Michelle King said that they were "thrilled" to add "The Americans" actress to their cast.

"Every year we look for a character and an actor who can go toe-to-toe with Eli Gold and make him blink ... So we were thrilled when Margo Martindale agreed to play Willa Eastman. Her ability to mix comedy and drama is unparalleled. And we can't wait to see how Margo and Alan deal with each other," they said, according to CarterMatt.

CBS also revealed that "Extant" actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan landed a series-regular role playing an investigator named Alex. According to TVLine, Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) will hire the calm and experienced hourly investigator to presumably work at her new firm. Alex may also become Alicia's new love interest.

"I know that there's a lot of speculation that there might be some possible romance thing happening," Morgan told E! News at San Diego Comic-Con. "And I know Julianna and I'll be happy to jump into that arena with her. So we'll see what happens."

In addition to Morgan and Martindale, British actress Cush Jumbo of "Torchwood" will fill some of the void that Panjabi left.
