‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Full-Length Trailer Released, AMC Show Premieres on August 23 [Watch]
Fans have known for quite some time now that the upcoming spinoff series "Fear the Walking Dead" was coming to AMC this August as a prequel series to "The Walking Dead."
Videos clips have been popping up all around the Internet for the series, but were nothing more than 10 to 20 second teasers with nothing to really show other than to spark a little interest.
AMC has now officially released the first full-length trailer for the show and at 3 minutes long, it is incredibly dramatic.
It features the main characters that everyone already knew about played by Kim Dickens ("Treme") and Cliff Curtis. They are Madison and Travis, who are not exactly married but bonded in a romantic and spiritual way.
They both have extended families, but are product of apparent divorces. Both have children with other people and the drama of the trailer really picks up when the onslaught of the zombie outbreak starts to become clear.
This series has already been positioned as a summer show that fills the gap in the off-season between "The Walking Dead" seasons, according to an article on Forbes.
The article also criticized AMC for waiting so long to release any new trailers that hype the show. But after viewers saw this trailer the wait was well worth it and it did not disappoint.
The trailer debuted at Comic-Con 2015 this year in San Diego and the audience response to it was phenomenal, with good reason.
The obvious differences between this show and its flagship "TWD" is that civilization still exists here. People go to school and work. They still drive in the carpool lane on their way home and they still have functional cell-phones and hot water for their showers.
One can only imagine how they are going to react when those things get taken away. The world goes dark and everyone stuck fending for themselves for both food and basic survival.
This trailer is about a world that is just now seeing this kind of nightmare unfold.
See the trailer below and decide for yourself.
