Veteran actor John Stamos has checked himself into a substance abuse rehab facility.

Nearly a month after being collared in Beverly Hill on DUI charges, People magazine reports the 51-year-old former "Full House" star recently checked into the residential program. At the time of his arrest last month, Stamos was also briefly hospitalized for an undisclosed medical condition.

Later, Stamos reached out to his fans on social media, thanking them for their "love and support." He later added, "I'm home & well."

This fall, Stamos is set to star in a Netflix remake of the popular "Full House" ABC series he starred on with the Olsen twins back in the 1980s. The new series will be called "Fuller House," and Stamos has also been cast in a new Fox sitcom called "Grandfathered."

After being taken into custody, Radar reported Stamos was formally charged with driving under the influence and was given a citation to appear in court on Sept. 11. Police stopped him around 8 p.m. after responding to several calls of someone driving erratically in the area.

According to People magazine, back in 2007 Stamos admitted he was publicly drunk when he appeared on an Australian TV show and slurred his words, wandered around the studio and made lewd gestures.

Stamos starred as Uncle Jesse on the hit 80s sitcom and recently hinted to Jimmy Kimmel he's long envisioned a return to the role.

"We've been working on this for many, many years," he said.

The new series is slated to feature 13-episodes, with Stamos both producing and starring. It will start as a one-hour reunion show, then morph into a spinoff series also starring DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron-Bure) and her three kids, along with her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and neighbor Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).
