For over five years now, Norman Reedus has been working with Robert Kirkman on "The Walking Dead," and now he is going to team up with him on a feature film titled "Air."

Deadline got a chance to sit down with Reedus at SDCC 2015 and he was very forthcoming about his experiences on the set of "The Walking Dead," as well as his yearly presence at Comic Con, which he referred to the attendees as "my people."

This is not his first year nor his fifth coming to the annual event, which attracts thousands and thousands of visitors every year. Reedus was very forthcoming that his time at the annual event started with his work on "The Boondock Saints" and his cultural phenomenon has rubbed off on him to make him a mainstay there.

His presence on "The Walking Dead" among his co-stars has helped make it a powerhouse ratings drama for AMC, which has beat out the ratings on Sunday nights against "Sunday Night Football." That is a monumental task to accomplish for any network, let alone a cable network.

His new film "Air" has been helmed by "TWD's" original creator Kirkman and the film is a little different than what fans of both are used to. But that is not to say they won't like it.

Reedus is joined by Djimon Hounsou on screen as the caretakers of a cryogenic sleep lab that watches over people who have been frozen in the sleep state due to a nuclear event that made the air on Earth unbreathable.

Their two characters take turns during shifts sleeping while the other takes care of the facilities needs. Needless to say, things go wrong for the pair as they are the only ones in this underground bunker to deal with an issue that arises. The fallout from within leads to potentially fatal consequences.
