Bobbi Kristina Brown News Update: Nick Gordon Served With $10M Suit in Florida
Nick Gordon was recently served with a $10 million lawsuit formally accusing him of beating and stealing from girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown.
The New Daily News reports Gordon was presented with legal documents by a process server on Sunday while leaving a Florida Starbuck's near Orlando, whipped-cream-topped Frappuccino in hand.
The somewhat testy exchange left one bystander quizzing Gordon, "What is that?"
A stunned looking Gordon simply replied, "I have no idea."
Filed late last month in Fulton County, Ga., the civil complaint charges Gordon with causing "substantial" harm to the only daughter born to Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. In one particular incident, he is accused of punching the 22-year-old in the face and knocking out a front tooth before dragging her off upstairs by her hair.
Bobbi Kristina was rushed to an Atlanta hospital in late January after being found face down in the bathtub of the home the two shared. She has never regained consciousness, and family members recently made the agonizing decision to take her off life-preserving medications so she can "die naturally."
The suit also alleges Gordon kept "an iron grip" on Bobbi Kristina's finances and personal dealings, frequently answering her cell phone and prohibiting her from making any appointments without his approval.
On the day she was found lying comatose and unresponsive, Bobbi Kristina reportedly had made plans to meet with someone whom she'd previously told Gordon was not the man she thought he was. That same morning, she and Gordon allegedly engaged in an "explosive argument" at her Georgia home.
"The loud argument ended and Brown was later found unresponsive and unconscious, face down in a bathtub, with her mouth swollen and another tooth knocked out," said the complaint, which was filed by Brown's court-appointed conservator Bedelia Hargrove.
Even after she was hospitalized, the suit charges Gordon accessed her bank account stole more than $11,000.
