Salma Hayek is not one to shy away from sex appeal. The actress made that very clear with her new Allure magazine cover.

As the magazine's August cover star, Hayek was photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, who she stated, in a behind-the-scenes video "tries to do the minimum clothes possible" for photo shoots. The 48-year-old admitted to being a bit shy about removing her clothing but was satisfied with the photos because the spread "doesn't look vulgar."

"I was very nervous and I think I looked very uncomfortable at the beginning," she told Allure. "I mean, you can't see anything. Don't get excited!"

In one image, posted on Allure's Instagram, the Mexican actress, who is known for her curves and strong facial features, can be seen glaring in a mirror with minimal makeup on and maintaining her modesty by covering her chest with her hands.

Like some of her Hollywood peers, Hayek looks not much older than she did 10 years ago. In June, the actress shared some of her beauty secrets, including her thoughts on Botox, which she reiterated in her Allure interview.

"When I was young, they tried to sell me on the idea [of Botox]: 'If you do it now, then you won't get the wrinkles,' " Hayek said. "And thank God I didn't do that."

Hayek, who began her career in the telenovela "Teresa," has been married to French businessman Francois-Henry Pinault since 2009 and has one daughter. The Latina told the magazine she does not like being away from her family.

"I've never been apart from my daughter for more than two weeks," she said. "We don't separate for long periods of time. Never."

However, according to People, Hayek has not always been lucky when it comes to love and the actress explained how she wished she knew that it wasn't always going to be easy. Yet, it always works out in the end.

"I wish I knew [when I was younger] that I was going to fall crazy in love with the perfect man," said the star. "I was so worried, and I dated some people I shouldn't have dated. You get desperate and you start seeing wonderful things in, like, the wrong guys. I also found some pretty good guys. But I wish I could say to myself, 'Hey, chill out. You're going to get a great husband that's going to adore you.' I would have saved myself a lot of personal drama."
