Bethenny Frankel considers her new Bridgehampton farmhouse digs the first real home she's ever lived in.

"This is the first real home I've had in my entire life," the 44-year-old "Real Housewives of New York" star recently told People magazine. "I've moved around so much. And in the places I've rented, I hardly ever wanted to put pictures up because I didn't feel like it's mine."

That's all changed with the five-bedroom, country home she now gets to call her own. For the first time since she can remember, Frankel feels at ease and worry-free in the place where she hopes to spend a great deal of her time.

All at once, the new home has become a haven for her from both all her onscreen drama and the trials and tribulations of the messy divorce from husband Jason Hoppy she still finds herself in the midst of sorting out.

Seemingly, almost from the moment they said, "I do," the two have battled over money, and now the Tribeca apartment they once shared has also been thrown into the legal mix. Luxurious and extravagant as it was, Frankel now reflects the place "never felt like home."

It's part of why she has been so adamant about her new place coming to represent "peace and freedom."

"It's like the Destiny's Child song 'Independent Women, Pt. 1.' 'Shoes on my feet, I bought 'em. I depend on me,'" she said. "I wanted to make it mine."

That means parties, putting 5-year-old daughter Bryn's Dora The Explorer sprinkler system on full display, and plenty of evenings of casual cookouts and cocktails.

"In New York, you're always on the move," she said. "Here, it's more fun to be home."

Frankel has already signed on with Bravo to return later this year for the eighth season of "Real Housewives."
