Marshall London: A Smartphone Designed for Music Lovers
Marshall is typically known for its amplifiers, speakers and headphones. Now, music lovers should be excited that the company has decided to release a smartphone called the London, CNet reports.
The Marshall London focuses on high-quality sound and has several features that will give the listener a better listening experience.
The London has two front-facing speakers, a quick-access M button on the top of the device that quickly launches the music player, a scroll wheel for the volume instead of a two-button volume rocker and two 3.5mm headphone jacks, allowing two people to listen at the same time.
The new smartphone also has a global equalizer that lets listeners customize their audio settings. Users will also be able to play FLAC files, which are uncompressed tracks that are designed to replicate the original audio file.
Audio performance is the only real highlight for the Marshall London, as it does not pack the specifications that other smartphones offer. The screen size is the same as the recently released iPhone 6, measuring in at 4.7 inches, but screen resolution is just 720p.
The Marshall London will support 4G LTE and will run the latest version of Android, 5.0.2 Lollipop.
The processor on the Marshall London is definitely not spectacular, using just a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. The processor will be assisted by 2 GB of RAM. The removable battery will be 2,500 mAh.
Camera fans might be disappointed that the rear-facing camera will only be 8 megapixels (MP). The front-facing camera is just 2 MP.
Storage will start out rather light for the Marshall London with just 16 GB of internal storage being included. Users will be able to add more storage with microSD cards thanks to a microSD slot.
Right now, the Marshall London is available for order on Marshall's Swedish website. The smartphone will come with Marshall's own Mode earbuds. The pricing is based on Swedish krona, but it equals about $585 in U.S. currency.
