The new "Alien" franchise film is really starting to shape up and entering the early stages for production, according to Comic Book.

The director for the film, Neill Blomkamp, has also divulged the artwork for the upcoming film via Instagram. The artwork is considered the concept art and features two of the franchise's earliest stars, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and Corp. Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn).

The concept art gives a clear indication that they are in a "stand-off" position with a South Korean Colonial Marine, as indicated by Comic Book. Filming for the movie will begin as early as this fall in Vancouver.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Blomkamp has indicated that he will be ignoring all subsequent films following the James Cameron film "Aliens" and pick up right were that film left off. The next installment will be a continuation of the story from the end of the Cameron film. The first film was of course directed by legendary Hollywood director, Ridley Scott.

The concept art pulls the characters from "Aliens" and gives them a battle weary look. Hicks can be seen with a disfigured face, and Ripley looks like she has seen better days.

"I want this film to feel like it is literally the genetic sibling of 'Aliens.' So it's 'Alien,' 'Aliens' and then this movie," Blomkamp told Sky Movies in a recorded interview uploaded to YouTube.

Weaver also said in the video that she really wanted to give Ripley a finish, or an end to the character in what she called "such an excellent story."

There have been no real details released by Blomkamp about the film and how it is going to move further into the universe Scott originally brought to life on the big screen. But he did say that Scott, who is a producer for the film, has expressed his approval for the idea he has presented to him. So it appears the film has already set its story.
