Mariah Carey Wants Divorce Finalized So She Can Elope With James Packer?
Mariah Carey is rumored to be pushing Nick Cannon to quickly settle all the "formalities" remaining in their marriage so they can finalize their divorce and she can elope with her billionaire Australian boyfriend James Packer.
According to Movie News Guide, Globe Magazine recently reported the "Hero" singer wants to quickly agree on a financial settlement and a child custody arrangement with her ex so that she will be free to move on with Packer.
Meanwhile, Cannon is rumored to be intentionally stalling ending things with Carey, even though the couple formally filed for divorce nearly six months ago.
Among the issues rumors continue to circulate saying "The America's Got Talent" host still plans to move to Australia with Packer and almost certainly would be looking to take their 4-year-old twin children along with her, despite Cannon also having custody.
OK! magazine has previously reported Cannon is staunchly against the idea of Carey even taking their kids with her for a visit to her new boyfriend's homeland.
"He's always been worried about Mariah drinking around the children, and I'm sure he will use that to his advantage," a source added. "There is no chance those kids will be leaving the country."
According to the magazine, Packer has allegedly already proposed to the 45-year-old Carey and the two recently spent the July 4 holiday celebrating in Las Vegas together after jetting back from an extended stay on his king-sized yacht in the Mediterranean.
Several media outlets have also reported the couple ventured to Israel during their extended vacation for a "pre-engagement spiritual meeting" with Packer's longtime religious adviser.
Carey and Cannon were married for six years before he recently filed for divorce. She has also been married to record label executive Tommy Mottola.
As for Packer, a source added, ''Mariah is having a lot of fun being courted. It's very different than when Nick Cannon was wooing her. To her, Nick was a boy. James is a man."
