‘The Walking Dead’ News: AMC to Host Special Event For Premier, See How to Get Tickets [WATCH]
The immense popularity of "The Walking Dead" on AMC has prompted a new special event for the premiere episode of Season 6, according to AMC.
Season 6 is set to have an explosive, extended premiere Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT. And the event hosted by AMC will be held at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The venue will host the event with all of the show's producers and cast present. It has been described as a "Comic-Con" style panel, except the premiere episode will be shown for fans on gigantic screens followed by a panel discussion.
The post-viewing panel will discuss the season going forward and likely address some major questions -- minus the spoilers, of course. The show's executive producers will be on the panel and navigating the flow of information.
Here's the even better news: The event is not an exclusive for the high rollers. It is for the fans of the show. So in an effort to get some of the biggest fans to the event, AMC is giving away tickets.
Fans of "The Walking Dead" can sign up for news about how to get tickets and how to win tickets at the Insiders Club for TWD.
"The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott M. Gimple revealed to Entertainment Weekly Season 6 will have "multiple threats" both familiar and new.
"There are multiple threats, even in the first half of the season," Gimple said. "And sort of different versions of threats we've seen before. The first three episodes are quite intense, and the cast and crew are -- we just shot them out of a cannon directly into another cannon that we shot them out of again."
