The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced and it is no surprise Taylor Swift continues to dominate.

The singer leads the pack of nominees, according to MTV, along with pal Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé and rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Swift, who is currently on her "1989" tour, is up for a total of nine nominations, including Video Of The Year, Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.

Most of the nominations are for her highly publicized music video for her single "Bad Blood." The video made plenty of headlines leading up to the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, where it was premiered, because it featured a week long social media campaign slowly revealing the videos cast .

Appearing in the video are Swift's closest friends, who also happen to be some of pop culture current "it girls," including singer Selena Gomez and Hayley Williams, models Lily Aldridge, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt, Gigi Hadid, actresses Jessica Alba and Lena Dunham.

The video also marked a long-desired collaboration with rapper of the moment Kendrick Lamar, who added a couple of verses to the tune and is now up for Best Collaboration with Swift. Lamar's other nominations include Video Of The Year, Best Male Video and Best Hip-Hop Video for "Alright."

British singer and Swift's pal Ed Sheeran is up for six nominations, including Video Of The Year, Best Male Video, Best Pop Video, Best Choreography, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. His nominations are for his singles "Don't" and "Thinking Out Loud," both from his album "X."

Swift isn't the only female coming out on top. Beyoncé is up for five VMA's with Video Of the Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Choreography and Best Editing. The awards are all for the singer's homemade "7/11" video, which features her dancing around her hotel room in various outfits. The video, according to BET, was shot on an iPhone.

Also up for five awards, including Video Of The Year, are Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars for "Uptown Funk." Other nominees include Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas, Sia, Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Big Sean, Flying Lotus and Hozier.

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Miley Cyrus, will air on Aug. 30 and will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
