The OnePlus 2 is the next smartphone coming from the relatively unknown company OnePlus. The features on the device have been steadily becoming available, but the usage of the troubled Snapdragon 810 processor has left some concerned, according to GSM Arena.

The Snapdragon 810 has been plagued with problems on other devices. Overheating and throttling issues have occurred with the processor and the OnePlus 2 is said to be using the same processor.

However, OnePlus tried to ease worries by promising to use an updated version of the Snapdragon 810, version 2.1. Version 2.1 of the processor has been said to have fixed the issues that occurred in the previous versions of the Snapdragon 810.

The Snapdragon 810 version 2.1 that the OnePlus 2 will use was tested for its performance with the benchmark scoring system AnTuTu.

The processor in the OnePlus 2 (A2001) was used at its maximum capacity and given a benchmark score of 63,719. That score could be the highest performance that the Snapdragon 810 has been able to achieve, higher than the new Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.

The AnTuTu benchmark tests the processor, the hardware, and software that phones run. All of these factors can contribute to the benchmark score.

Hopefully, the OnePlus 2 does not suffer from any overheating or throttling problems. OnePlus does not seem worried, insisting the new version of the Snapdragon 810 does not have these problems.

The OnePlus 2 is expected to include 4 GB of RAM, a fingerprint sensor and have a USB-C charging port. The screen on the OnePlus 2 could be 5.5 inches and have a resolution of up to 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, according to CNet.

The OnePlus One was extremely popular due to its affordability paired with excellent features. The only drawback to the OnePlus One was it was initially available on an invite-only system. The OnePlus 2 will use a similar invite system, but the company insists that more invitations will be available to ensure more people can obtain the phone.
