The creators behind the hit television series "The Good Wife" are teaming up with CBS to create a bizarre new sci-fi show that mixes politicians and aliens.

In addition to working on the highly acclaimed political drama "The Good Wife," Robert and Michelle King announced that they will start a new project called "BrainDead."

According to Cinema Blend, CBS has ordered a 13-episode summer series entitled "BrainDead," which is a combination of comedy, sci-fi and suspense-driven drama. It is scheduled to launch in 2016.

The show will revolve around a young woman who begins to notice extraterrestrial activity in Washington, D.C., when she begins working on Capitol Hill. Apparently, aliens have started to eat the brains of some of the Congressmen and other important political figures.

Robert and Michelle explained why they signed on to produce the new one-hour comic-thriller in a statement, reports CarterMatt:

"We wanted to do a show that was a mix of genre-pulp and high-brow politics ... It seemed like the best way to address the news today -- not straight, but as the opening act of a horror movie."

Meanwhile, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently opened up about his new role in "The Good Wife" in Season 7. The "Extant" star will play a calm and experienced investigator named Alex, who is hired by Alicia, played by Julianna Margulies.

The actor went on to describe his character as "an ex-lawyer who got into some trouble and finds himself now being an investigator. He's got a laid-back personality and a quick wit. I like that kind of dynamic. And I think it will be a nice dynamic for Julianna to play off of," he said.

However, in addition to working in Alicia's new firm, there is also speculation that y he will become her love interest.

When asked if a romance will spark between Alex and Alicia, Morgan told TVLine, "I don't know. I haven't been told that." He added, "I know there's a lot of speculation."

He did, however, admit that there is an instant chemistry between the two and that Alicia is "intrigued by his personality."
