Powerball Numbers & Results July 25, 2015: Watch Live Stream of Drawing for $90 Million Jackpot
Saturday’s chance to make big money playing Powerball is here. And since no one won the grand prize on Wednesday -- when the winning numbers were: 12, 31, 43, 44, 57, and 11 -- all that money has rolled over and is now at $90 million with a cash value of $55.7 million.
There were 379,858 regular winners and $3,345,400 in non-jackpot money was won.
There are actually nine ways to play Powerball. Though the odds will likely change in October, currently there is a 1 in 175,223,510.00 chance in winning the grand prize and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 chance in winning $1,000,000.
So the odds of winning are slim, but people do win. The main thing a Powerball player has to do, outside of checking the numbers, is hold on to the ticket. That, and maybe keep a low profile.
When Marie Holmes, a 26-year-old single mother from North Carolina, won $188 million back in February by playing Powerball, it looked like a happy ending of hard times. One of Holmes’ children is a special needs child with cerebral palsy, and the winner had said that she would use her new fortune to help him.
On Thursday police arrested Holmes on charges of drug possession. Holmes was at her home with her boyfriend, who was under house arrest, when cops raided her place and found drug paraphernalia. The young mother now faces possession of marijuana charges.
The cops went to her home to arrest her 31-year-old boyfriend Lamar Andre McDow for violating the terms of his pre-trial release agreement. As reported by WWAYTV, Holmes had paid for the bond that set her boyfriend free back in March.
