The power of Social Media helped bring charges against a 40-year-old Assistant Principal who was called out by two former students on allegations of sexual abuse.

A YouTube video that was posted by Jamie Carrillo accused Andrea Cardosa, a former basketball coach, of sexually abuse. Cardosa was charged with not one but five counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child in addition to a total of 11 more counts of abuse, according to a statement from the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. Once the video was sent to the school district, Cardosa resigned.

Another woman by the name of Brianna, who only provided her first name to NBC News Los Angeles, heard about the news and decided to come forward with her own story of abuse. She opened up about it a bit in an interview with KCBS-TV.

"There were stories that I was scared to say and my story is exactly like hers. Our stories are exactly extremely, extremely alike. And I never realized that as a child, and now that I'm older and a little more mature, everything changed and I see what was going on."

The initial case with Carrillo started to unfold when the former student, who is now a 28-year-old adult, made her voice heard regarding abuse claims dating back to when she was only 12 years of age. The video sent a very clear message while it reportedly closed in on almost 1 million views.

According to The Associated Press, the five counts of aggravated sexual assault could translate into a lifetime jail sentence for the former educator. A $5 million warrant has since been issued for her arrest.
