Vector Smartwatch: Affordable 'Luxury' Watch With Long-Lasting Battery
A new company is entering the wearable technology market, and they want to be noticed.
Vector, a company from London, boasts that their smartwatch has a battery that can last up to 30 days, according to CNET.
The watch looks nice too, with metal straps and bodies. The watches are designed to look just like a traditional analog luxury watch.
Vector will offer two models of the smartwatch. The Luna will be the round-shaped model and will sell for $349. The rectangular-shaped model will be called Meridian and it will sell for $199. Both models will be waterproof up to 50 meters and go on sale this September.
Vector smartwatches will work across the three major operating systems, iOS, Android and Windows Phone. This means it will pair nicely with a nearby smartphone, no matter what the brand is, according to TechCrunch.
The Vector smartwatch is designed to be a "watch first" device, but it will still be smart. Because the watch uses a monochrome display called e-ink, the battery life is extremely long and the display is always on.
The always-on philosophy means that users will be able to glance at notifications that appear on the screen.
The Vector smartwatch can be customized through the companion app, which allows users to adjust notification settings. To pair the smartwatch to a compatible phone, a Bluetooth Low Energy connection will be used. Once connected, the Vector smartwatch will be capable of reading text and Facebook messages and accepting or rejecting calls coming into the phone.
The Vector smartwatch will keep track of users' steps, calories, distance traveled and their sleep as well.
With a variety of bands, the Vector smartwatch is fully customizable. Metal-linked bands are offered as well as leather and rubber bands too. The watch can be purchased in Rose Gold, Champagne Gold, Stainless Steel and Black.
