'Madden NFL 16' Gameplay, News and Reviews: Who Are the Top Five Cornerbacks in the Game?
The hottest topic in the NFL today is: Who is the best cornerback in the league? Some say it's Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman, while others say it's New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis. EA Sports has revealed their ratings for cornerbacks in Madden NFL 16 and the first two names on this list are very familiar.
Sherman comes in at No. 1. The self-proclaimed "best corner in the league" led the Seahawks defense to its second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. In the game, Sherman is rated 97 overall with 92 Man Coverage and 99 Zone Coverage. With Sherman back on the team, will the Seahawks defense lead them to a third straight Super Bowl?
Second on this list is former New England Patriot Revis. Now back with the New York Jets after signing a huge contract, Revis is rated 97 overall with 99 Man Coverage and 99 Zone Coverage. Given the Twitter war between Sherman and Revis a couple of seasons ago, it will be interesting to see which player will have the better numbers.
Third on this list is Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis. Coming off a Pro Bowl season, Davis led the Colts defense to the AFC Title Game last season. In the game, he is rated 95 overall with 97 Man Coverage and 94 Zone Coverage. He is also good in run support with 88 Speed and 88 Play Recognition. With Davis leading the defense, will the Colts make it to the Super Bowl?
Fourth on this list is Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. After making the Pro Bowl last season, Harris Jr. is quickly becoming one of the best players for the Broncos. In the game, he is rated 94 overall with 89 Speed, 98 Man Coverage and 97 Zone Coverage. Ever since coming off ACL surgery, Harris Jr. has silently become one of the best corners in the league.
The fifth and final cornerback on this list is Kansas City Chiefs Sean Smith. Smith has been a crucial part of the Chiefs passing defense. In the game, he is rated 91 overall with 93 Man Coverage and 95 Zone Coverage. He also has 86 Speed and 94 Play Recognition.
Madden NFL 16 will be in stores on Aug. 25 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Playstation 3.
