Bruce Campbell (Ash) has been off the horror grid now for over two decades now, taking an over-extended vacation from the "Evil Dead" franchise. But now that he will be reprising his role in the Deadite universe, he will be bringing his butt-kicking persona back as well.

That might also be leading to a stint on the obvious need for more films in the franchise, according an article on Deadline.

First of all, the revival of the character following a remake of the franchise, Ash is in serious need of a workout. His older and more wise character has been out of the action game for quite some time and now, his wise-cracking one-liners have been resurrected for the series, which is billed more highly as a comedy than a horror show.

The series will air on Starz with 10 episodes that are 30 minutes in length. Campbell will be joined by a new cast of slayers, those who unknowingly got dragged into the conflict.

His former co-star on "Xena," Lucy Lawless, will also join him in the series and will play a "yin" to his "yang." Her character Rudy blames the washed-up store clerk for the plague that is falling over humanity and now, they must pair up in some way and fight the plague. But seems as though they will be a bickering "odd-couple" on the series.

At the TCA panel last week for the show, Campbell was in attendance and quickly opened up about what to expect from the film universe once the series gets in full swing.

"This series will force us to make more movies," Campbell said at the conference. "That's only 10 hours of programming; we need eight more movies."

Although Campbell is known for his quick one-liners that may or may not be true, he is certainly right about the demand the show will generate.

"Making a fourth movie would work. ... No matter what we give them, it will never be enough."
