Mega Millions Numbers & Results July 31, 2015: Live Stream of Drawing Time; $15M Jackpot
Just 10 days after a Pennsylvania participant took home a $152 million Mega Millions jackpot on July 21, a lucky player in Missouri also matched the right numbers in Friday's drawing, winning $25 million, KTVI reported.
The lottery's winning digits from the July 31 drawing were 28, 32, 33, 40 and 46; the Mega Ball number was 10; and the Megaplier number was 4, according to the game's official website. Friday also produced a new millionaire in Ohio, where a participant matched 5 numbers -- but not the Gold Mega Ball, MLive noted.
The Missouri win marks the first time a Mega Millions jackpot has been cracked in the Show-Me State, KTVI noted. May Reardon, the executive director of the Missouri Lottery, told the St. Louis Fox affiliate that the winner should sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe location until he or she is able to travel to the lottery's Jefferson City headquarters to claim the prize.
In Pennsylvania, the $152 million win similarly marked the largest Mega Millions prize ever paid out in the commonwealth. The Keystone State's golden ticket was sold in Northumberland County in Eastern Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette revealed.
Those who are feeling particularly lucky this week, meanwhile, may want to purchase a ticket for tonight's $15 million jackpot and tune in at 11 p.m. EST. That's when yet another of the multi-state lottery's draws is set to take place at the studios of WSB-TV, Atlanta's ABC affiliate.
If you happen to score the big prize and want to take home every last penny, the total will be paid out in annual installments over a 29-year period. Otherwise, you have the option of an immediate lump sum payout of about $9 million.
Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday, and the draw entry closes at 10:45 p.m. EST. Tickets to the game are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands, a total of 45 jurisdictions. The odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 15, but your chances of hitting the jackpot are only about 1 in 259 million.
