"Orange is the New Black" Star Dascha Polanco Featured in 2015 NFL Women's Apparel Campaign
Dascha Polanco will be representing Latinas in her latest fashion collaboration. The "Orange Is the New Black" star was chosen to star in the NFL's sixth installment of their women's apparel campaign.
According to Fashion and Style, actresses Jamie Chung, Alyssa Milano, Tika Sumpter and model Erin Heatherton will also star in the new campaign with Polanco.
"Im excited to rep the Latinas in this year's NFL Woman's Apparel campaign! My #NFLFanStyle is one of a kind. Thank you to my NFL family for selecting me to be a part of this new campaign for the new season," Polanco captioned a behind-the-scenes image on Instagram.
"We strive to give our fans more ways to showcase their passion for their teams by offering options that are customizable and on-trend and we are thrilled to have such a diverse group of ambassadors as part of this year's campaign," the NFL's vice president of Consumer Products, Brand and Retail, Natara Holloway said.
In the past, Polanco has spoken out about not only representing the Latino community as an actress but also representing women with bodies that don't fit the image Hollywood has set.
"It's been something that I have struggled with throughout my life and I think that as I'm becoming older and I became a woman and I've gone through the phases, I'm learning how to love myself more," the Dominican actress told The Huffington Post about her body image.
"I think it's very important [to talk about it] when you're in a position of where you are looked upon or onto as a role model or inspiration. Young girls and women, we all need that sense of security and that empowerment, so it's very important for me to display that.
Polanco, who is a native New Yorker, will be seen supporting her hometown team the Giants in various print and digital campaign images.
