Henry Cavill will not be in the upcoming "Fifty Shades Darker" film.

Throughout the past months there has been speculation that the actor would be playing an unidentified role in the sequel to the E.L. James adaptation. Cavill himself had led fans and audiences to speculate as he stated in an interview "Basically what I can say is I can't say anything about it right now."

However, later he denied all rumors and told USA Today "I'm not in 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I'm for real. I'm just messing with everyone."

The actor is currently promoting his upcoming film "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" and was rumored for a long time to be the favorite to play Christian Grey. During the interview with USA Today he admitted, "The first time around, everyone was asking, 'Are you Christian Grey?' I went 'No!' But no one cared and everyone kept talking about it. This time around, everyone is now still convinced I'm part of the series. Now the question is, 'Are you going to be in 'Fifty Shades Darker. ' And I thought, I'm going to try a different tact this time. See what they say. And so I tried a different tact."

Cavill is already headlining another big franchise as he plays Superman in the upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," a film that is likely to take up his schedule in the upcoming weeks with press conferences.

Cavill is also participating in the "The Justice League" films and that will take up his next two years, making it difficult for him to participate in the Universal franchise.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is scheduled for release in 2017 and already has Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson on board for the film. Rita Ora and Luke Grimes are also slated to star in the film but casting is still in the process and the film has yet to find its director.
