'Jane The Virgin' Season 2 Spoilers: Series to Return to The CW Earlier Than Expected
Fans of "Jane the Virgin" can expect Season 2 of the popular comedy series to premiere even earlier than expected.
It was initially reported that the second season of The CW sitcom would begin on Monday, Oct. 19. However, CarterMatt revealed that season premiere has been pushed up to Oct. 12, followed by the debut of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" at 9 p.m. EDT.
According to TVGuide, actress Rachel Bloom will star in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" as a woman who sacrifices her whole life and high-powered career in Manhattan to track down her ex-boyfriend in Covina, California.
Jennie Urman, the executive producer of "Jane The Virgin," recently teased that there will be two weddings in the upcoming season, although she didn't reveal who will be getting married.
As fans may recall, Season 1 ended with a bang as Jane (Gina Rodriguez) gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Mateo, who was then kidnapped by Sin Rostro. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) took Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) swimmers home from the fertility clinic. Plus, Jane's parents, Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil), admitted that they got drunk and eloped in Last Vegas.
In addition to the two weddings, Urman revealed that Jane will decide whether she wants to be with the father of her child, Rafael, or her ex-fiancé, Michael, played by Brett Dier.
"Jane will make a choice with one of the guys, eventually, and we will have a wedding at some point in the season," said the showrunner while speaking to TVGuide. However, this does not necessarily mean that Jane will end up marrying the man she chooses.
"By the fifth episode there's an unexpected marriage of two characters, and that's going to be the first [wedding]," Urman said. "And of course our weddings [will have] big, fun, whimsical set pieces."
