2K Games finally released a new cinematic trailer for the upcoming "Mafia 3" title on Gamescom 2015. While not too many information about the game have been revealed in the event, the new clip did offer a lot of details about the story, character and setting that fans can expect when the game is finally launched.

It was previously reported that the third iteration of the video game will be set in 1960s post-Vietnam War New Orleans, and the audience at Gamescom was treated to the beauty of the city in the gameplay trailer that debuted on the event.

According to Kotaku, the developers seemed to have spared no detail in recreating the city and the French Quarter in 1968 New Orleans. The music alone, represented the culture of the place, while muscle cars popular during the era provides additional excitement to players and chase scenes.

Even a scene that showed a cop giving an interracial couple a hard time is just among the few details that will transport players to the 1960s era when playing the new "Mafia 3" title.

Lead character Lincoln Clay just returned from the Vietnam War and has found himself an adopted family with the black mob of the city. However, the rival Italian mob murdered his family and it left Clay bitter and bent on taking revenge on the criminals.

This storyline is the beginning of the gameplay where he is set on taking over the rival mafia groups in the city to avenge his family's death.

The mission will see Clay team up with other people from the city, three "lieutenants" to help him take down the other mobs and gain control of the city he calls home. One of the three is Vitto Scaletta from the "Mafia 2" title.

One of the missions shown in the gameplay trailer revealed an underground jazz bar, which is a cover for a drug den where Clay plots his intent on taking over the city and its mobs.

While the action might seem very direct to the point in saying that the mission is to take down rival mobs, every action and decision made by the player will affect the game's storyline.

According to Game Rant, "player actions are very important and will help shape the experience gamers have in the game."

"Mafia 3" will be released in 2016 although no exact date has been given yet. It will be available to the current generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony as well as the desktop PC.
