Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith, Sr. will hang up his jersey after this season.

According to ESPN, the former Carolina Panther announced earlier today that the 2015 season will be his last.

"I feel like it's time. All the chips are on the table. Let's see what the dealer gives me," Smith said in a statement. He signed a three-year deal with the Ravens after being cut by the Panthers last season in a cost-cutting move. He also stated that he has two to three more seasons in him but doesn't want to continue playing.

According to Bleacher Report, Smith is a 12-time Pro Bowler and a 2-time Associated Press First Team All-NFL selection. Throughout his career, he had 915 career receptions for 13,262 receiving yards and 81 touchdowns. He ranks 18th all time in the NFL career receptions list.

With the addition of Smith last season, the Ravens made it to the playoffs, where they were eliminated by the eventual Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots. Last season, Smith had 79 receptions for 1,065 yards and 6 touchdowns. He is Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco's favorite receiver.

During his 13 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, he made his one and only Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl XXXVIII, where the Panthers lost to the Patriots. He is the Panthers all-time leader in catches (836), receiving yards (12,197) and touchdowns (67).

There is talk that Smith will make the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the first year of his eligibility. With his stats and passion for the game, it would be a shocker if Smith didn't get into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot.

We will just have to wait another five years to see if he gets in.
