In the video, you can see how powerful the typhoon is. Debris is flying all over, and a white van is in front of the car from which the dashcam films. A few seconds later, a tornado appears and the white van completely disappears into thin air. The driver of the car stops in sheer horror and helps out a woman who was injured by the violent winds. The woman caught in the video is reportedly suffering from major injuries. You may be wondering where the white van ended up. If you look closely at the video, you can see the van is wedged in between two trees.
The typhoon, which is a category three storm, also made landfall in China. So far, 21 people have been killed in China and Taiwan, according to CNN. The storm left 14 people dead in the eastern Chinese cities of Wenzhou and Lishui. In Taiwan, 7 people are confirmed dead from the storm. At one point, the storm reached 180 MPH winds before it made landfall. The storm weakened to a tropical storm when it reached the countries.
It has been a busy typhoon season in the West Pacific Basin, as 10 typhoons already ravaged the area.
Typhoon Soudelor is so powerful that it even lifted a Boeing 747 off the ground. Check out the video of the incredible force of nature below:
