The apparent resurgence of '80s films has been a growing trend for Hollywood here lately, and now, "Beetlejuice" is getting a sequel, according to Entertainment Weekly.

During an interview on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," actress Winona Ryder officially let the cat out of the bag in regards to the rumors about the film project.

"Um, I think I can confirm it, because Tim Burton did this interview -- like, it was very hush, hush, top secret ... and then he was doing some press for 'Big Eyes' and he did an on-camera interview and he said, 'Oh yeah we're doing it, and Winona's going to be in it,' and I was like [shocked face]," Ryder said on the talk show.

The rumors that have been floating around were not made out of baseless claims. Star Michael Keaton and director Tim Burton have both teased the project for over a year now.

Back in February of 2014, Keaton told MTV he was in contact with Burton on the project.

"I've emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff," Keaton said.

"I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another."

In an interview with IGN last December, Burton weighed in on the topic as well.

"There's only one Beetlejuice, and that's Michael. There is a script, and I would love to work with him again," Burton said.

"I think there is now a better chance than ever. ... I miss that character. There's something that's cathartic and amazing about it. I think it's closer than ever."
