The creator for "The Walking Dead," Robert Kirkman, has added cast additions to his new cable series "Outcast."
According to Deadline, the series will be about a man, Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by demonic possessions his entire life.
The new cast members include David Denman ("13 Hours"), Melinda McGraw ("Mad Men"), Grace Zabriskie ("The Killing"), Catherine Dent ("The Shield"), Lee Tergesen ("The Americans") and Brent Spiner.
Denman will play the role originally portrayed by Kip Pardue in the pilot episode, Mark Houlter, who is the brother-in-law to Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit). Houlter is married to Barnes' sister. Although he is devoted to his family and children with Barnes' sister, he is also a by-the-book small town cop who cannot forgive Barnes for his past.
Although details of Barnes' past in regards to criminal activity have not been revealed, what is known about the character is that he has been plagued with these demonic possessions his whole life. He sets out on a journey to understand why he has this affliction, only to find another young boy who has the same problem.
The story starts to arc when Barnes finally starts to find answers, which he also learns could lead to the apocalypse if things don't change.
McGraw is slated to play a mother and a religious fanatic. Zabriskie will play a former religious figure, but has taken on a gritty attitude toward life and is now described as full of "spit and vinegar."
Dent plays the ex-wife of Reverend Anderson. His obsession with battling dark forces forced them apart, but they still have a child together.
Tergesen plays an ex-cop who sits on death row. He had murdered the wife of one of his ex-partners on the force.
